What’s On My Vanity

As a beauty and lifestyle blogger, my vanity is filled with some of the most sought after and curated beauty items.

I’ve been reaching for a few products lately, (pictured above) and they’ve become staples in my beauty routine.

Cleanse by Lauren Napier is a pretty dope concept of individual packaged makeup remover wipes. Though I’ve been limiting my carbon footprint by switching from cotton rounds to reusable makeup removal pads, these wipes always find their way back in my stash. I’m a frequent flyer and love to pack travel size skincare and these fit the bill. Not to mention they have stellar ingredients and remove make up like a dream.

Marc Jacobs has slowly worked their way into my heart and makeup routine. This gloss is a universally flattering color and is great to wear alone for on top of another color to kick it up a notch. A little goes a long way and the pigment is stunning.

I’ve become a lover of all things that mist and they’re now a must have in my skincare arsenal. Murad’s Prebiotic 3-in-1 Multi Mist is a new staple in my fall skincare regimen. The mist application is perfection and aside from keeping my skin supple in between skincare steps, it helps refresh my makeup through the day. The only thing missing is a travel size. I’m obsessed!
What vanity staples are you currently gushing over?

Getting Out Of A Workout Slump

I’ve started to hate working out. And it’s not because I don’t like to exercise. I’ve begun to dislike fitness because it’s become boring and mundane.
I used to be a member of Equinox and while I loved the gym and amenities, the class schedule just didn’t work with my job. So I’ve found myself struggling to find something that would re-inspire me on my fitness journey.
It wasn’t until I stopped and thought about what i used to do before the gym, that a light bulb went off. My fitness slump was over and I realized a jump rope and my yoga mat were all that I needed.
We all go through phases of stagnancy and it’s ok to have a little slump now and then. It’s completely normal. But don’t get stuck in a rut. Find different ways to get inspired. Visit Pinterest, do a Google search, type some hashtags into Instagram to get back into the groove.
There are so many resources we can use to motivate and re-ignite that fire within us. Take it one day at a time and if need be, find an accountability partner. You can be your biggest fan or your own worst enemy.
What do you choose?

In My Opinion: AprilSkin Real Calendula Peeling Pad

Do you switch out your skincare products with the seasons? I do. Fall weather leaves my combination skin more normal/dry (except in my T-zone) and I tend to reach for more hydrating formulas.
That’s why I couldn’t be happier to have received the Real Calendula Peeling Pad from AprilSkin for review.
This pad boasts key ingredients of over 75% calendula water as well as salicylic acid, sodium hyaluronate, centella asiatica extract and licorice root, making this the perfect product for fall when my skin needs hydration.
Calendula, (the key ingredient), also called marigold, is known for it’s anti-septic, anti-inflammatory, hydrating and soothing benefits. Those who have sensitive skin as well as men who need soothing for their skin post-shave would definitely be able to add this product to their stash.
The texture of this pad reminds me a lot of the acne peel pads from Peter Thomas Roth. They’re dual-sided with one side being embossed for light exfoliation, while the other side it smooth.
AprilSkin, like a lot of k-beauty products, takes a more moisturizing and soothing method when it comes to their ingredients. And after using this pad for a few weeks, my skin is in love.
At $24 for 60 pads, I’d say AprilSkin Real Calendula Peeling Pads were a steal. The product comes soaked in the treatment and leaves my skin feeling soft, hydrated and ready for the next steps of my skincare routine.

Let me know if you’ve tried this product or one similar and what are your thoughts on chemical exfoliation pads? Also, if there’s a product you’d like me to review, leave a comment below.
